Managing Skills on a Job

How to add required skills to a job, and what happens when you type a skill that doesn't exist yet in your account's library.

Written by Amogh Balikai

The Additional Information card also lists the skills required for a job, pulled from your account's shared skill library.

Adding a skill

  1. Click into the + icon beside Skills on the card (requires Edit Job permission).

  2. Start typing. If a matching skill already exists in your account's library, select it from the dropdown.

  3. If it doesn't exist yet, press Enter on your typed term. It's created in the account library and added to this job in the same action.

Removing a skill

Click the remove icon on any skill tag. No confirmation step, it's removed immediately. Changes auto-save per action, there's no separate Save button to remember.

Example

You're staffing a niche technical role and type "Terraform." If it's new to your account, it's created in the library right then, so the next recruiter who needs it can select it from the dropdown instead of retyping it.

Things to know

  • There's no maximum skill count. The tag group just wraps to additional lines as you add more.

  • View-only users see skills as plain, read-only tags with no add or remove option.

  • Because skills you create here land in the shared account library, a typo becomes everyone's typo. Worth a quick check before hitting Enter on a new one.
