AIRA Notetaker can automatically tag every call it logs with a Meeting Type, but unlike a fixed list of categories, the types it uses are whatever your workspace has configured. Your team might have Check-in, Intake, Candidate Discovery, Offer Discussion, plus anything custom you've added, like Screening or Reference Check.
AIRA decides which type fits a call by reading the transcript and comparing it against the description you've written for each meeting type in your settings, not just the type's name. That's the part that makes this feature different from a typical auto-tag: the quality of your results depends directly on how clearly each meeting type is described.
Two things have to be true for this to work
The "Use AIRA to auto-classify meeting type" toggle is turned on (Notetaker Settings → Smart association).
Your meeting types have clear, specific descriptions set (Settings → General Settings → Meeting type).
This is a separate feature from "Use AIRA to smartly associate a meeting to a Job," the toggle just above it. That one decides which company or job a meeting relates to. Meeting Type auto-tagging decides what kind of conversation it was. They run independently of each other.
