Recruiterflow allows you to track your candidates’ movements through different job stages in two ways: Fill Skip Overs and Actual. This setting determines how candidate stage movements are counted and displayed across your Recruiterflow account.

What is Fill Skip Overs?

When a candidate moves from one stage to another while skipping one or more stages in between, Recruiterflow counts all skipped stages as if the candidate moved through them. This way, you get a complete view of your job pipeline and track progress across each stage.

What is Actual?

In Actual, the stage movement is only counted if a candidate actually enters that specific stage. If they skip a stage, Recruiterflow won’t count it as a movement for that stage.

Example Scenario:

Let’s say your job stages are:

  • Sourced

  • Recruiter Screen

  • Client Submission

If a candidate directly moves from Sourced to Client Submission (without going through the "Recruiter Screen" stage), Fill Skip Overs would still count the candidate as having moved through all three stages. This provides a more comprehensive pipeline view.

However, in the case of Actual, the "Recruiter Screen" stage would not count that candidate because they didn’t pass through it.

Impact of Setting a Default Option Between 'Fill Skip Overs' and 'Actual'

When you set a default between "Fill Skip Overs" and "Actual" across your Account, it impacts various areas of Recruiterflow:

1. Job and Company Pages
The submission data displayed on individual job pages and company pages will follow your chosen default. This impacts how you view and track the candidate’s journey within each job.

2. Overview Widget in the Dashboard
The Overview Widget on your dashboard will reflect the candidate movements based on your default setting, giving you a clearer summary of your job activities.

3. Reports
Several key reports are impacted by this setting:

  • Stage Movement Breakdown Report: Visualize how candidates move through stages, either with skipped stages counted or only actual movements.

  • Milestone Report: Analyze key milestones for your jobs while considering skipped stages or only actual stage entries.

  • Custom Reports involving Job Pipelines: Any custom reports you create involving the job pipeline will reflect your chosen default setting.

The ability to choose between Fill Skip Overs and Actual allows you to customize your pipeline reporting based on your business requirements.

Fill Skip Overs is ideal if you want to see a candidate’s broader journey through all stages, while Actual is best for a precise count of candidates who actually entered each stage.
