Connecting Recruiterflow to Claude via MCP

Learn how to set up the integration, what you can do with it, and how to get the most out of it.

What is Recruiterflow MCP?

Recruiterflow's MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration lets you connect your Recruiterflow account directly to AI assistants like Claude. Once connected, you can search your candidate database, pull up job details, and access your recruitment data, all from inside your AI chat, without switching tabs or logging into Recruiterflow separately.

Think of it as giving Claude a live window into your Recruiterflow account.

What You Can Do

Right now, the integration supports candidate search. You can ask Claude to find candidates in your Recruiterflow database using natural language, and it will return matching results directly in the chat.

More capabilities, including job search and other entities, are coming soon.

What You Need Before You Start

  • An active Recruiterflow account

  • A Claude Pro, Team, or Enterprise subscription (the Connectors feature is not available on the free plan)

How to Connect

On Claude.ai (web):

  1. Go to claude.ai and open Settings

  2. Navigate to Connectors

  3. Click + to add a new custom connector

  4. Fill in the following:

    • URL: https://recruiterflow.com/api/mcp

    • Client ID: claude-web

  5. Click Add

  6. Click Connect on the Recruiterflow connector that appears

  7. You'll be redirected to Recruiterflow — log in with your RF credentials

  8. Click Allow on the consent screen

  9. Done. Open a new chat and you're ready to go.

Note: Authentication uses OAuth 2.1. Recruiterflow never stores your Claude credentials, and Claude never stores your Recruiterflow password. You're authorising a secure, read-only connection between the two.

Example Prompts to Try

Once connected, here are some things you can ask Claude:

  • "Find candidate Tony Stark"

  • "Search for candidates named Sarah in my Recruiterflow account"

  • "Look up candidates with the last name Johnson"

Candidate search uses exact, case-insensitive matching on the full name. For example, searching "John Smith" will match "john smith" but will not return results for just "John" or "Smith" alone.

Data & Privacy

  • The integration is read-only. Claude can retrieve data from Recruiterflow but cannot create, edit, or delete anything.

  • Access is scoped to your account. Claude can only see data that your Recruiterflow user account has permission to access.

  • You can disconnect the integration at any time from Claude Settings → Connectors.

Troubleshooting

Claude says it can't find candidates I know exist.

Make sure you're using the candidate's full name. The search requires an exact name match (case-insensitive). Partial names like first name only won't return results currently.

I'm getting a connection error after setting up.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting from Claude Settings → Connectors. If the issue persists, contact Recruiterflow support.

The Connectors option isn't visible in my Claude settings.

Connectors require a Claude Pro, Team, or Enterprise subscription. The free plan does not support custom connectors.

What's Coming Next

We're actively expanding the MCP integration. Upcoming capabilities include:

  • Job search

  • Filters by location, status, and more

  • Additional recruitment entities
