Error while promoting a job

Fix the "Your jobs will not be visible on job boards" error by completing the job description and the location's city and country fields.

Written by Amritanshu Anand

When you promote a job, Recruiterflow checks that it has enough information to post on external job boards. If something's missing, you'll see this error banner:

The error fires for two reasons. Either the job description is missing, or a location on the job doesn't have city and country values filled in. Fix the cause that applies and the error clears.

Missing job description

Open the job and add a description.

  1. Go to the Jobs page, click the three dots on the job card, and choose Edit.

  2. Add a job description, even a short paragraph clears the error.

  3. Click Save.

Missing or incomplete location

The error also fires when a location on the job doesn't have city and country values. This often happens when a location like "London" is created without specifying which one, London UK, London Canada, or London USA.

  1. Go to SettingsLocations (or open recruiterflow.com/settings#locations).

  2. Find the location used on the job.

  3. Edit it and fill in the City and Country fields.

  4. Click Save.

If the job uses a brand-new location, create it from the same page and fill in city and country before assigning it to the job.

Things to know

  • Locations are workspace-wide. If you're not an Admin, ask your Admin to update the location, once they do, every job using that location is fixed.

  • The error reappears if a description is later removed or a location's city/country values are stripped, even on jobs that previously promoted without issue.

  • This error covers description and location specifically. Some job boards have additional requirements (salary, employment type, etc.) and may reject a posting later for those reasons, that's a separate flow.
