When to delete a stage movement

Delete a stage movement when:

  • A candidate was moved to the wrong stage by mistake

  • You need to correct an accidental stage change

  • The movement shouldn't be counted in reports or metrics

Note: Deleting a stage movement removes it from all reports and analytics where it was previously counted.

Who can delete stage movements?

Only these users can delete a stage movement:

  • Admins (can delete any movement)

  • The user who created the movement (can only delete their own)

If you don't have permission, you won't see the delete option.

How to delete a stage movement

  1. Open the Stage Movement Timeline (see Understanding Stage Movement Timeline for steps)

  2. Find the stage movement you want to delete

  3. Click the bin icon (πŸ—‘οΈ) next to the movement

  4. A confirmation dialog appears with the message:

    • "This will delete the Stage Movements. This action will impact calculations on Reports, Job page and other related entities."

  5. Type DELETE (in all uppercase) in the text field

  6. Click the Delete button

The stage movement is removed and the timeline automatically refreshes.

Special warning: Deleting movements to "Hired" stage

If you delete a movement to the Hired stage, you'll see this additional warning:

"Deleting stage movement from Hired will also delete all associated Placement Record and Revenue data."

When you confirm deletion:

  • The stage movement is deleted

  • The associated Placement record is deleted

  • All revenue data linked to that placement is deleted

This action is permanent. Make sure you want to proceed before confirming.

What happens after deletion

Timeline updates

  • The deleted movement is removed from the Stage Movement Timeline immediately

Activity log

An activity is automatically created on the candidate profile:

  • Header: "Stage Movement Deleted" (attributed to you)

  • Text: "Movement to [Stage Name] stage was deleted"

  • Associated Job: Linked to the job where the deletion occurred

Reporting impact

The deleted stage movement is no longer counted in:

  • Stage Movement Breakdown Report

  • Job Page metrics

  • Moved to Stage KPI (Advanced Reporting)

  • Job Pipeline Report

  • Company Page

  • Time to Fill calculations

  • Days in Stage calculations

  • Milestones

All reports and metrics update to reflect the deletion.

Important notes

  • Deletion is permanent. You cannot undo this action

  • Stage movements you delete will no longer appear in any historical reports

  • "Added to Job" and "Disqualification Reason Changed" entries cannot be deleted

  • If deletion fails, the movement remains visible in the timeline
