Why is AIRA Source not returning results?

Troubleshooting guide for when AIRA Source searches return no candidates, fewer results than expected, or the interface isn't loading

If AIRA Source is returning no candidates — or far fewer than you'd expect — this guide covers every common cause and how to fix it.

No results at all

AIRA Source requires atleast 1 filter before running a search: Job Title. If you are missing to add one or set too narrowly, the search may return nothing.

Fix:

  • Make sure the job title is accurately are filled in. Leaving any blank will prevent the search from running.

  • Broaden your job title — instead of "VP of Engineering, FinTech SaaS" try "VP of Engineering" first, then layer in keywords.

  • Expand the location radius or switch to a larger metro area. AIRA Source searches within a geographic boundary, so very specific cities in non-metro regions can return zero results.

Searching in a niche or specialised market

AIRA Source draws from 500M+ profiles, but niche markets — highly specialised roles, small industries, or uncommon geographic markets — can still return thin results. This reflects actual candidate availability in those segments, not a system error.

How to expand results in niche markets:

  • Use a broader job title. Start generic, then narrow with keywords. If "Nuclear Safety Compliance Specialist" returns nothing, try "Compliance Specialist" with "nuclear" as a keyword in the optional fields.

  • Widen the location. Switch from a specific city to a state, region, or "Remote." Many niche candidates are open to relocation or fully remote roles.

  • Loosen the experience range. If you're set to 10–15 years, try 8–15 or 7+.

  • Remove the Function filter. Function is optional — removing it can significantly expand your result set while the job title still anchors the search.

Fewer results than expected

AIRA Source applies quality filters to every result. Candidates who don't meet these thresholds are excluded.

This is intentional. You're seeing active, engaged professionals rather than stale or inactive profiles — which means less time wasted on dead outreach.

To increase pool size, broaden your filters as described above. Widening location and loosening experience range tend to have the biggest impact.

Candidates you expect to see aren't showing up

AIRA Source automatically excludes candidates already in your Recruiterflow database. This deduplication is by design — it prevents you from accidentally re-sourcing or double-contacting someone already in your pipeline.

To find candidates already in your database, use Advanced Search or AIRA Matchmaker instead.

AIRA Source isn't loading or appears frozen

If the AIRA Source interface isn't responding, try these steps in order:

  1. Refresh the page and re-enter your filters.

  2. Clear your browser cache and try again.

  3. Confirm your AIRA plan is active. AIRA Source is only available on the AIRA plan. If your plan changed or lapsed, access may have been restricted. Check Settings → Billing to verify your current plan.

Still not getting results after trying the above?

  • A screenshot of the filters you applied

  • The job title and location you searched

  • Whether you're seeing zero results or fewer than expected
