The Associated Company Card: Overview & Changing a Deal's Company

What the Associated Company Card shows, and how to change which company a deal is linked to.

Written by Amogh Balikai

Every deal is tied to exactly one company, and this card gives you a glanceable read on it without leaving the Deal profile.

What it is

A deal can only ever be associated with one company. That's different from the Contact profile's Company Details Card, there's no multi-company list here, no primary indicator, and no per-entry menu. A deal simply can't exist without a company: one is required at creation and can be changed, but never removed.

What's on the card

  • Company logo

  • Company name — a link to the full company profile.

  • Company profile — click to open it.

  • AIRA icon — appears on hover if the company is AIRA-enriched.

  • Org chart icon — opens the org chart if one exists. If not, hovering shows: "Org chart not created yet. Start creating an org chart by going to a contact profile."

How to change the associated company

  1. Click the Edit option in the card header.

  2. Use the search bar to find the company you want.

  3. Select it. The deal is now linked to the new company.

If you open this flow and back out without selecting anything, the current company stays associated, nothing changes.

Things to know

  • You can't create a brand-new company from inside a Deal profile, only search and select an existing one.

  • There's no inline editing of any company detail from this card, including the org chart, view only.

  • Changing a deal's company doesn't require edit access on the company itself, just edit access on the deal.
