Set Up Twilio Integration for Calling

Set up Twilio, connect it to Recruiterflow, and start making calls to candidates and contacts directly from the platform.

Written by Adarsh N

Recruiterflow connects with Twilio so you can make and log calls to candidates and contacts directly from the platform. This guide covers setting up Twilio for the first time, connecting it to Recruiterflow, and making your first call.

What you'll need

  • A Twilio account — sign up here if you don't have one

  • A Twilio phone number with both Voice and SMS capabilities

  • Admin access to Recruiterflow

Step 1: Create your Twilio account

If you already have a Twilio account, skip to Step 2.

  1. Go to twilio.com/try-twilio and sign up. Give your project a recognisable name like "Recruiterflow Integration".

  1. Verify your mobile number. This is for account setup only — it won't be used for calls.

Step 2: Get a Twilio phone number

  1. Log in to your Twilio Console. Click Develop in the left sidebar, then click Explore Products and pin: Voice, Studio, Phone Numbers, and Messaging.

  1. Go to Phone Numbers → Manage → Buy a Number.

  2. Select your country. Filter for numbers with both SMS and Voice capabilities checked, then search.

  1. Select a number and confirm your purchase. Most Twilio numbers cost $1/month.

Step 3: Connect Twilio to Recruiterflow

  1. In your Twilio Console, find your Account SID and Auth Token on the dashboard. Keep these private.

  1. In Recruiterflow, go to Settings → Integrations.

  2. Find the Twilio section and enter your Account SID, Auth Token, and Phone Number.

Important: Enter the phone number without spaces and include your country code (e.g. +14155550123).

Step 4: Make a call

Once Twilio is connected, making a call is straightforward. Open any candidate or contact profile, click their phone number, and select Make a call. Grant microphone access if prompted.

Step 5: Log the call

After each call, log the details on the candidate or contact's profile under the Calls section. Call logs are visible to the rest of your team from the activity timeline.

Things to know

  • Each team member who wants to make calls needs their own Twilio number connected under their own Recruiterflow account.

  • Your browser must have microphone access enabled for calls to work. Check your browser settings if calls aren't connecting.

  • Twilio charges per call minute in addition to the $1/month number cost. Check your Twilio plan for current rates.

  • To set up call forwarding (so incoming Twilio calls ring your real phone), see Set up call forwarding with Twilio.
