Configure deal stages and pipelines to match how your team actually tracks business development opportunities.
What it is
Deal pipelines let you define the stages a deal moves through β from first conversation to closed won or closed lost. Each pipeline can have its own set of stages with assigned win probabilities. You can create multiple pipelines if your team works different types of deals (for example, retained searches vs. contingency).
How to set up and edit a pipeline
Go to Settings β CRM Settings.
Under the Pipelines section, click the edit icon next to the pipeline you want to modify, or click Add Pipeline to create a new one.
βTo add a stage, click Add Stage at the bottom of the stage list, enter the stage name, and assign a win probability from the dropdown.
To reorder stages, drag them into the order you want.
To edit or delete an existing stage, click the edit or delete icons next to it.
Click Save when done.
β
Practical example
Your BD team runs both retained and contingency searches. Create a "Retained" pipeline with stages like Proposal Sent (20%), Agreement Signed (50%), Search In Progress (75%), and Closed Won (100%). Create a separate "Contingency" pipeline with a leaner set of stages that reflects how those deals actually move and close.
Things to know
Every pipeline should include a Closed Won and a Closed Lost stage. Without both, your pipeline reporting won't accurately reflect deal outcomes.
Win probability is required for every stage.
Only Admins can create or edit pipelines from Workspace Settings.
