Understanding the Company-Mismatch Nudge on Deals

Why Recruiterflow sometimes asks if you want to add a deal's company to a contact's profile, and how to respond.

Written by Amogh Balikai

If you link a contact to a deal and their profile's company doesn't match the deal's company, Recruiterflow flags it so nothing falls out of sync silently.

When it fires

The check happens only at the moment you add an existing contact to a deal, if their Company field doesn't match the deal's Company. It does not apply to contacts you create fresh from the deal, since their company is always set to match automatically.

What you'll see

A pop-up nudge appears on the scree with two options, Add Company & continue and Dismiss without adding.

What happens with each choice

  • Add Company — updates the contact's profile to include the deal's company.

  • Dismiss — closes the nudge, no change is made to the contact. The contact stays linked to the deal either way.

Practical example

You add a contact from a different division of a larger client group. The nudge appears, you dismiss it since the contact genuinely belongs to that other entity, and the deal keeps its own company unaffected.

Things to know

  • This check only runs once, at the moment of adding. It won't re-fire later if the contact's company changes independently.

  • Dismissing the nudge for one contact doesn't suppress it for other mismatched contacts you add later.

  • Once acted on or dismissed, the nudge won't reappear for that same contact/deal pair on later visits.

  • You need edit permission on the contact record to see the Add Company option, otherwise the nudge doesn't appear at all.
