Glossary: contact profile terms

Key terms used across the contact profile, Profile Customization, and the Company details and Deals cards.

Written by Amogh Balikai

The contact profile uses a small set of terms with fixed meanings, and this glossary defines each one in the way Recruiterflow uses it.

Use this when a term in another article is unfamiliar, or when you write internal training and want the wording to match.

Contact

A person of interest at a company your firm works with, usually a hiring manager, HR lead, or other stakeholder tied to a deal or job.

Contact profile

The page for a single contact. It shows their details, companies, deals, jobs, and activity history.

Top-left card

The fixed card at the top left of the profile. It shows the contact's photo, name, title, primary company, owner, and action icons.

Card

A block of information on the profile, such as Deals or Notes. Cards sit in the left, middle, or right column.

Overview tab

The middle column tab that shows the cards placed in that column.

Activities tab

The middle column tab that shows the contact's full activity history, with filters.

Layout Editor

The screen where you add, move, and remove cards, then publish the layout.

Standard view

The layout every user sees unless a view of their own applies. Admins edit it.

Personal view

A layout a recruiter builds for themselves. It never changes what others see.

Card Settings Panel

The panel in the Layout Editor where a card's settings live, such as the deal properties you show.

Required cards

Contact Info, Jobs, Deals, and Company details. Each must sit in at least one column to publish.

Primary company

The company the contact is mainly associated with. It sets the title and company in the top-left card.

Secondary company

Any other company linked to the contact.

Reports to

The contact's manager at one specific company.

Org chart

The map of who reports to whom inside a company.

Board block

The section of a company's org chart that holds board members, separate from the reporting hierarchy.

Stage pill

The clickable label on a deal entry that shows the current stage and lets you change it.

System property

A built-in property, such as Contact Status, that you choose to show on the profile.
