Set Up the Recruiterflow Chrome Extension

Install, pin, and configure the Recruiterflow Chrome extension so you can source candidates from LinkedIn and other sites in seconds.

A one-time setup that takes about 60 seconds. Once you've done this, you can source candidates from LinkedIn (and other supported sites) into Recruiterflow with a couple of clicks.

Step 1: Install the extension

Skip this step if the extension is already installed.

  1. Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension when Chrome asks you to confirm.

Step 2: Pin the extension to your toolbar

Pinning keeps the Recruiterflow icon visible on every page so you don't have to dig for it.

  1. Click the puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner of Chrome.

  2. Find Recruiterflow in the list.

  3. Click the pin icon next to it. The Recruiterflow icon now appears in your toolbar.

Step 3: Allow access to file URLs (for the PDF fallback)

The extension parses most LinkedIn profiles directly without any extra permissions. But for the PDF fallback flow — used when a profile won't parse directly — the extension needs permission to read downloaded files.

Turn this on now so you don't get stuck the first time you need it:

  1. Go to chrome://extensions in your Chrome address bar.

  2. Find the Recruiterflow extension and click Details.

  3. Toggle on Allow access to file URLs.

Step 4: Sign in to Recruiterflow

The extension uses your active Recruiterflow browser session. If you're not signed in, the extension can't add candidates.

  1. Open Recruiterflow in another Chrome tab and sign in normally.

  2. If your team has multiple workspaces, make sure you're in the workspace where you want sourced candidates to land.

Step 5: Test it on a LinkedIn profile

  1. Open any LinkedIn profile in Chrome.

  2. Click the Recruiterflow icon in your toolbar.

  3. The extension should pre-fill the candidate's name, headline, work history, and education.

If you see parsed candidate data — you're set. For full instructions on adding candidates, see Add Candidates from LinkedIn with the Recruiterflow Chrome Extension.

If something's not right — extension blank, sign-in screen, no parsed data — check Troubleshooting the Recruiterflow Chrome Extension.

Things to know

  • Per-browser, per-profile. The extension is tied to the Chrome profile you install it under. If you use multiple Chrome profiles (e.g., personal and work), install it on the one you use for sourcing.

  • Updates are automatic. Chrome updates extensions in the background — you don't need to manually update Recruiterflow.

  • Works on more than LinkedIn. The extension also pulls candidate data from GitHub, personal sites, and other supported sources.
