Sourcing Candidates from LinkedIn Using the Recruiterflow Chrome Extension

How LinkedIn integration works with the new extension

Written by Umme Saira

Source candidates from LinkedIn and add them to Recruiterflow in seconds — no manual data entry needed.

How it works

The Recruiterflow Chrome Extension reads a candidate's LinkedIn profile and imports their details directly into your account. There are two ways to do this: a one-click import from the profile page or a PDF-based import that captures the candidate's full resume.

First-time setup

The first time you open the extension, Chrome will ask you to allow it to manage files. Grant this permission — it's required for PDF resume parsing to work.

Option 1: Direct import from the LinkedIn profile

  1. Open a candidate's LinkedIn profile

  2. Click the Recruiterflow icon in your Chrome toolbar

  3. Open the profile you want to add to your Recruiterflow account, then click on the Import button on the profile. It parses the profile details automatically

  4. Review the imported information, then click Add Candidate/Add Contact

Option 2: PDF resume import

  1. Open a candidate's LinkedIn profile and use LinkedIn's Save to PDF option to download their resume

  2. Click the Recruiterflow icon in your Chrome toolbar

  3. Click on the More option on the candidate/contact profile and then click on the Save to PDF option. The extension detects the downloaded PDF and parses it automatically

  4. Review the imported information, then click Add Candidate/Add Contact

Example

You're building a shortlist for a VP of Sales role. You find a strong candidate on LinkedIn, click the Recruiterflow icon, review their parsed details — name, current role, contact info — and hit Add Candidate. They're in your ATS in under 10 seconds, no copy-pasting required.

Things to know

  • If the profile doesn't load automatically in the extension, refresh the LinkedIn page, then reopen the extension.

  • The file management permission granted on first use is required for PDF parsing — without it, Option 2 won't work.

  • If an email address is found during import, it's added automatically using one of your lookup credits.

  • Both options add the candidate/contact to your Recruiterflow account with any available contact details.
