Smart Campaigns

smart campaigns feature is designed to automatically detect the authenticity of the e-mails that are being sent out

Written by Adarsh N

Before sending any campaign email, Recruiterflow automatically checks whether the recipient's email address is deliverable. If the domain doesn't exist or the address is clearly invalid, the email is skipped — and the step is flagged with an error on the Recipients tab.

This happens silently in the background. You don't need to configure anything; it applies to every campaign automatically.

To enable this feature, go to Settings → Automation Settings and turn on "Enable Smart Campaigns" under Campaign Configurations.

What you'll see

When an email address fails validation, the affected step shows an error status on the recipient's row in the Recipients tab. The error typically reads something like "Invalid email domain." You can review all errored recipients by filtering the Recipients tab by status.

What to do about it

If a recipient is flagged, check whether the email on their profile is correct. If it is and the address is genuinely invalid, update it with a working address — or remove the recipient from the campaign and reach out through another channel.

Things to know

  • Validation only catches addresses with non-existent domains. It won't catch typos that still resolve to a real domain (e.g., gmal.com).

  • A failed validation doesn't stop the rest of the campaign — other recipients continue on their schedule.

  • This is separate from a hard bounce, which happens after delivery is attempted. Smart Campaigns validation happens before the send.
