In the recruitment business, revenue is one of the most critical metrics. Understanding how much revenue each job type generates and forecasting future income can greatly impact your business strategy. At Recruiterflow, we’ve listened to your feedback and revamped our Revenue Reports to provide more comprehensive insights into your revenue streams.

With this enhancement, you can now see the revenue generated by every job, categorized by job type—contingent, retained, RPO, contract, etc.—and gain visibility into future revenue. However, to unlock this powerful feature, you need to set up the engagement type and billing for your jobs.

This guide will walk you through setting up the new revenue report and explain how it can benefit your recruiting business.

Setting Up Revenue Reports in Recruiterflow

To access the newly improved revenue report and get insights into current and future revenue streams, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Revenue Report:

    • Go to the Reports tab in Recruiterflow.

    • Select Revenue under the Recruiting Reports section.

  2. Set Up Your Report Filters:

    • By default, the Group by filter is set to Associated with - User. You can change this to Engagement Type to see revenue categorized by job type.

    • The Currency will automatically be taken from your default settings. Ensure this is set correctly for accurate revenue tracking.

  3. Select the Date Range:

    • Use the date filter to select the period you want to analyze. You can choose from pre-set options like This Year, This Quarter, or customize your date range (e.g., July 21st to November 13th).

    • The report will display spikes and trends in revenue over the selected period.

  4. View Your Revenue Data:

    • The report will show the revenue generated from each job type (e.g., contingent, retained, RPO, contract).

    • To see the data in more detail, scroll down to the Tabular View.

  5. Analyze Future Revenue:

    • To forecast future revenue, set a future time. This will display projected revenue for upcoming periods based on billing dates and revenue metrics added to your jobs.

    • You can drill down further to view revenue details by selecting individual job types and seeing the revenue breakdown.

Benefits of the Revamped Revenue Reports

The newly improved Revenue Reports offer several advantages to help you manage and optimize your recruiting business:

  1. Comprehensive Visibility Across Job Types:

Easily track how much revenue you are making with each job type—contingent, retained, RPO, contract, etc. This helps you understand which job types are the most profitable and where to focus your efforts.

  2. Future Revenue Forecasting:

Gain insights into future revenue streams by viewing projected revenue for upcoming weeks, months, or quarters. This helps in financial planning, managing cash flow, and setting realistic revenue goals.

  3. Detailed Drill-Down Views:

The drill-down view allows you to analyze revenue at a granular level. For example, you can see which jobs (e.g., Sales Manager) are contributing specific amounts (e.g., $8,000) to your total revenue. This helps in identifying high-performing jobs and clients.

  4. Enhanced Decision-Making:

With clear visibility into past and future revenue, you can make data-driven decisions about which types of jobs to take on, which clients to focus on, and how to allocate resources effectively.

  5. Credibility for Investments and Strategic Planning:

For agencies seeking investment or growth, a detailed revenue report adds credibility and helps build trust with potential investors. It shows that you have a clear understanding of your financial health and growth potential.
