Sometimes, a candidate initially placed in a temporary or contract role is later converted to a permanent employee. Recruiterflow makes it easy to reflect this change in your placement records so that billing, reporting, and pipeline data stay accurate.
This article shows you how to convert a contract placement to a permanent one without duplicating records or losing historical data.
When to Use This
Use this workflow if:
A client has decided to hire a contractor full-time
You need to track both the contract and permanent portions of the candidate’s placement
Your revenue structure (e.g. commission or fee model) changes as part of the conversion
Step-by-Step: Convert a Contract Placement to Permanent
1. Go to the Placements Tab
From the side navigation, click on Recruiting > Placements and find the existing contract placement.
2. Click “Edit Options” to Review Existing Details
Select the Convert to perm option and add the details required in the window, like:
Start Date
Salary
Placement Fee
Revenue Attribution
Finally, click on Convert.
What Happens to the Old Placement?
The contract placement stays active until its end date and will show up in reports accordingly.
The permanent placement is treated as a new record and is included in placement and revenue reports as a separate event.
This dual-tracking approach ensures historical accuracy while allowing you to reflect updated candidate status.
Best Practices
Keep both placements in the system to maintain a full audit trail.
Review any custom revenue reporting setups to ensure commissions are calculated correctly for both placements.
