How to Stop a Campaign for All Recipients

How to stop an active campaign for all recipients in Recruiterflow — what happens to sent emails, mid-campaign recipients, and how to stop for one person only.

Written by Kanishk Sharma

Stopping a campaign halts all remaining scheduled emails across every recipient still in the queue. Emails already sent stay in inboxes — stopping a campaign doesn't unsend anything.

How to stop a campaign

  1. Click Campaigns in the left navigation menu.

  2. Find the campaign you want to stop — use the search bar or scroll to locate it.

  3. Click the three-dot menu next to the campaign name and select Stop Campaign.

  4. Confirm when prompted.

The campaign stops immediately. No further emails will go out to any recipient, regardless of where they are in the touchpoint sequence.

What happens after you stop a campaign

  • Recipients who received all their emails/texts are unaffected — the campaign completed for them.

  • Recipients mid-sequence will not receive their remaining steps unless you restart the campaign or manually re-add them.

  • The campaign moves to a Stopped state. You can restart it later if needed — it will resume from where each recipient left off.

  • Replies from recipients will still come in to your inbox even after stopping — stopping only prevents outbound sends.

Stopping for a single recipient vs. all recipients

If you only need to remove one person from a campaign — not shut the whole thing down — open the campaign, find the recipient in the Recipients tab, and use the Stop action on their row. This leaves the rest of the campaign running normally.

Things to know

  • Only Admins and the campaign owner can stop a campaign. Team members without the right permissions won't see the Stop option.

  • Looking to stop campaigns in Sequences? That's a separate feature — see Pausing and Resuming Sequences.
