Who this is for: Recruiters and Admins running email sequences, who want to understand what happens when a recipient's email address bounces mid-sequence.
What bounce rotation does
If a recipient's primary email address hard-bounces partway through a sequence, Recruiterflow automatically tries the next available email address on that recipient's profile instead of stopping outreach. The sequence keeps moving for that recipient — you don't have to catch the bounce and manually re-enter a new address.
How it works
When a step sends and the send comes back as a hard bounce:
Recruiterflow checks the recipient's profile for any other email addresses on file besides the one that just bounced.
If an alternate address exists, Recruiterflow automatically retries the same step using that address.
If the retry succeeds, the sequence continues normally from that point — the recipient is not moved to Error or Bounced status.
If no alternate address exists, or every address on file bounces, the recipient moves to Bounced status. See Understanding Recipient Statuses in Sequences.
Example
A candidate's work email on profile bounces because they've left that company. Recruiterflow finds a personal email address already saved on their profile and automatically resends the step to that address. The candidate never notices a gap — the sequence just continues.
Things to know
Rotation happens automatically — there's nothing to turn on.
To give a recipient the best chance of staying in a sequence, add every email address you have for them to their profile before launching. See Edit a candidate profile.
