How to Log an Email by CC'ing the Logging Address

Step-by-step guide to logging an email by CC'ing your Recruiterflow logging address — including how reply tracking works in threaded conversations.

CC'ing the logging address is the best option when you want Recruiterflow to capture the full email thread, not just the email you send, but the replies that follow. Here's how to do it.

How to CC the logging address

  1. Open your regular email client (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, or any other).

  2. Compose a new email to your candidate or contact as you normally would.

  3. In the CC field, add your Recruiterflow logging address (e.g., log-[accountid]@mail.recruiterflow.com).

  4. Send the email.

That's it. Recruiterflow picks up the email, matches it to the candidate or contact's profile, and logs it to their Conversations tab within a few minutes.

What happens with replies

This is where CC logging really earns its keep. When the candidate or contact replies, and the logging address is still in the CC field of their reply, Recruiterflow captures that reply too, and stitches it into the same thread on their profile.

Example: You email a candidate about an interview. You CC the logging address. The candidate replies with their availability, and the logging address is still CCed on their reply. Both messages show up on the candidate's Conversations tab as a single threaded conversation.

Note: Reply tracking only works if the logging address stays in the CC field on every reply. If the candidate or contact removes the logging address from their reply, that reply will not be captured.

Things to know

  • The candidate or contact will see the logging address in the CC field of your email. It's visible to them. If discretion matters, use BCC instead.

  • If you email multiple recipients who are all in Recruiterflow, the email logs to each of their profiles independently.

  • Attribution is based on your From address. The email will be attributed to the Recruiterflow user whose email matches the From field.

  • Attachments are supported, they'll be included in the logged email record.
