How to Log an Email by BCC'ing the Logging Address

How to log outbound emails to Recruiterflow by BCC'ing your logging address — and why BCC does not track replies.

Written by Debangana Mitra

BCC logging captures your outbound email in Recruiterflow without the recipient ever seeing the logging address. It's the right choice for one-way communications where discretion matters — just know that replies won't be tracked.

Find your logging address

Go to Workspace Settings → General Settings → Sync email using CC/BCC and use the Copy button to grab your logging address. It looks like: log-[accountid]@mail.recruiterflow.com

How to BCC the logging address

  1. Open your email client (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, or any other).

  2. Compose a new email to your candidate or contact.

  3. Add your Recruiterflow logging address to the BCC field.

  4. Send the email.

Recruiterflow captures the email, matches it to the right candidate or contact profile, and logs it to their Conversations tab.

Why BCC doesn't track replies

This is the key thing to understand before using BCC logging.

When you BCC the logging address, it isn't visible in the email headers the recipient sees. When they reply, the logging address isn't included — Recruiterflow never receives that reply and can't log it.

Example: You BCC the logging address on an offer letter to a candidate. The candidate replies to accept. That reply is not captured — only your original outbound email appears on the candidate's Conversations tab. This is expected behavior, not a bug.

If you need the full back-and-forth logged, use CC instead.

When BCC is the right choice

  • You're sending a one-way communication — an offer letter, job spec, or FYI — and replies don't need to be captured.

  • You don't want the recipient to see the logging address in the email.

  • You're sending to a group where a visible logging address in CC would look confusing or unprofessional.

Things to know

  • The logging address is hidden from the recipient — it works just like any other BCC recipient.

  • Attribution is based on your From address. The email is credited to the Recruiterflow user whose email matches the sender.

  • Attachments are supported and will be included in the logged email record.

  • If you email multiple recipients who are in Recruiterflow, the email logs independently to each of their profiles.
