Exec Watchlist Permissions and Access

A full breakdown of who can create, edit, view, and action Exec Watchlists and alerts based on Company profile access and JCA permissions.

Written by Amogh Balikai

Access to Exec Watchlist is controlled by two things: your access level on the Company profile, and whether you have access to the Job Change Alerts section. Here's exactly what each combination allows.

Permissions matrix

Capability

Edit access to Company + JCA access

View-only access to Company + JCA access

View Exec Watchlist card on Company profile

Create a new watchlist

Edit an existing watchlist

Delete a watchlist

View Exec Watchlist tab in JCA

Accept job change on an alert

Dismiss an alert

Add exec to database from an alert

Add to Sequence from an alert

Find Email / Find Phone from an alert

Use bulk actions in the Exec Watchlist tab

Key rules

  • Creating and editing watchlists requires edit access to the Company profile. This is the same access model used for editing any other field on a Company record. If you can only view a company, you'll see the watchlist card but the "Set Exec Watchlist" and "Edit Watchlist" buttons will not appear.

  • Viewing and actioning alerts only requires JCA access. Users with view-only Company access can still review, accept, dismiss, and enroll execs from alerts. They just can't change the watchlist configuration itself.

  • JCA access is required to see the Exec Watchlist tab. If a user doesn't have JCA access, they cannot access the tab regardless of their Company profile access level.

  • The Exec Watchlist tab is account-wide. Any user with JCA access sees all alerts and all watchlists across the entire account, not just their own.

If a team member can't see the Exec Watchlist tab

Check that they have JCA access enabled in their user permissions. Account Admins can review and update user access in Settings → Team Members.
