Retranscribe Recording FAQ

Answers to common questions about retranscribing a Notetaker call, limits, and what changes.

Written by Amogh Balikai

Can I undo a retranscribe?

No. Once a retranscribe completes, the previous transcript and summary are replaced and can't be restored.

Does retranscribing affect other users who saw the original transcript?

Yes. The transcript and summary are shared on the call record, so anyone who views that call afterward sees the updated version.

How many times can I retranscribe the same call?

Up to 3 times per call.

Can I choose a different language just for one call?

No. Retranscribe uses the language set in your account's Notetaker settings, which applies globally, not per call.

What happens to tasks or field updates that were generated from the original summary?

Existing tasks, notes, or field updates already created from the original summary aren't automatically removed or changed. Only the transcript and summary themselves are replaced.
