The Adaptive Deal profile doesn't introduce a new permission model, it layers card-level and layout controls on top of the access rules you already have.
Think of it as standardizing where it matters and personalizing where it doesn't. As an Admin, you set the guardrails at the Organization level, Managers can adjust for their Team, and individual reps can still tailor their own view, all on the same underlying deal data.
Viewing the page
A user needs Deal access to see the Deal profile at all. Seeing a specific card's contents (Associated Contact, Associated Job) also requires access to that record type, Contacts or Jobs, separately.
Layout editor permissions
Card removability from the layout follows standard layout-editor permissions, Admin or Manager, depending on view type (Personal, Team, Standard).
Only Admins can edit the Standard (account-wide) view.
Any user can build a Personal view; Managers can build and assign Team views.
Field-level edit permissions
If a user lacks edit permission on a Top Card field, it renders read-only, no click-to-edit affordance appears. This is unchanged from the existing Deal edit permission model, it just now applies inline instead of inside a separate edit screen.
Card-specific permissions
Capability | Admin | User (edit) | User (view only) |
Change associated company | Yes | Yes | No |
Add / Remove contacts | Yes | Yes | No |
Associate / create jobs | Yes | Yes | No |
Things to know
Deleting a Deal profile never cascade-deletes its associated Jobs, Companies, or Contacts, those records are untouched.
A user's layout choices are personal and don't affect what any other teammate sees, unless you've deliberately standardized a Team or Organization-level view.
