Track deals from the contact profile

View, link, create, and update the deals tied to a contact without leaving the contact profile.

Written by Amogh Balikai

The Deals card shows every deal tied to a contact, with its stage, amount, and expected close date, so business development context sits next to the conversation that created it.

Use this when a call, email, or note changes a deal and you want to log it without leaving the contact profile. The card does not create or edit pipelines. Pipeline and stage setup stay in Settings.

Read the card

  • Three chips filter the list: All, Active, and Closed. All is selected by default.

  • Revenue totals appear under the chips, in the primary currency set under General Settings → Currency Settings. All shows total won revenue and weighted revenue. Active shows total revenue and weighted revenue for open deals. Closed shows total won revenue and total lost revenue.

  • Deals are sorted by creation date, newest first. The left and right columns show 2 deals and the middle column shows 5. Click View N more to load the rest.

  • Hover over a stage to see the deal's pipeline.

  • A search bar appears when the contact has 5 or more deals.

Link an existing deal

  1. Click + Add in the card header.

  2. Search by deal name. The list shows deals that belong to the contact's primary company, with the company and expected amount under each name.

  3. Select one deal. The system links it to the contact and adds it to the card.

Create a deal

  1. Click + Add, then Create a deal at the bottom of the list.

  2. Fill in the deal in the side sheet and save. The contact is already associated.

Change a deal's stage

Click the stage pill on a deal and choose a new stage. The list shows only the stages in that deal's pipeline. When a stage needs extra details, a pop-up asks for them. A closed deal shows its close reason in brackets beside the stage.

Edit properties or remove the link

  1. Click the three-dot menu on a deal.

  2. Choose Edit properties to open the side sheet. It holds Deal Name, Stage, Amount, Expected Close Date, Deal Owner, the associated company and contact, and any custom properties.

  3. Choose Remove association to unlink the deal from this contact. The deal stays intact and remains on the Deals page.

Example

Tomás Reyes mentions on a call that Lumen Payments will raise its budget for a payments engineering search. You open his profile, click the stage pill on the open deal, and move it forward. Then you open Edit properties and update the amount. The call context and the deal update stay on one page.

Things to know

  • Linking, creating, changing stages, editing properties, and removing associations need contact edit scope. Users with view scope can read the card and open the side sheet read-only.

  • With no deals, the card reads "No deals yet" and shows the + Add prompt to users who can edit.

  • The Add list shows deals from the primary company only. To link a deal from another company, create the deal from the card.
