Editing Deal Details

Update a deal's name, value, close date, owner, associated company or contact, and custom fields directly from the deal record.

Written by Vipakshi Joshi

Every deal in Recruiterflow has a set of core details — name, value, close date, owner, associated company and contact, and any custom fields your Admin has configured. All of these can be edited directly from the deal record.

How to edit a deal

  1. Open the deal by clicking its name from the Deals board or from search.

  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top of the deal record.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Update the fields you want to change.

  5. Click Update to save.

What you can edit

  • Deal name — the title that appears on the board and in reports

  • Deal value — the monetary amount used in revenue forecasting

  • Close date — your projected close date, used in pipeline reporting

  • Owner — the team member responsible for this deal

  • Associated company and contact — the client and contact linked to this deal

  • Custom fields — any workspace-specific fields your Admin has set up

Practical example

After your intro call, you realise the deal value is higher than initially logged. Open the deal, click the three-dot menu, select Edit, update the value field, and click Update. Your revenue forecast reflects the change immediately.

Things to know

  • Changes to deal details are reflected across all reports and dashboards immediately.

  • Custom deal fields are configured by Admins in Workspace Settings. If you need a field that doesn't exist, ask your Admin to add it.

  • To change the deal's stage (not its details), click the Stage field directly at the top of the deal record — no menu needed. See Changing a Deal's Stage from the Deal Record.

  • If the Edit option is greyed out or missing, you may not have edit permissions for this deal. Check with your Admin.
