What's Changing: The New Candidate Profile

A full rundown of every change coming to the candidate profile, card-based layouts, custom views, inline editing, and more, plus a video walkthrough.

Written by Amogh Balikai

This article covers every change coming to the candidate profile, and includes a full video walkthrough. It's for anyone using Recruiterflow, recruiters, team leads, admins, and finance/ops.

The short version

The candidate profile no longer looks the same for everyone. It's now built from cards, small, modular sections like Files, Job, Activity, and Custom Fields, that you can rearrange, hide, or prioritize based on what your role actually needs to see first. An exec search recruiter, a high-volume desk, a team lead, and someone in finance all use a candidate profile differently. Now each of them can set it up that way.

Everything below applies once your account has switched over.

A fully customizable, card-based layout

Every section on the profile, Contact Info, Files, Job, Activity, Notes, Skills, Experience, Placements, Tasks, Custom Fields, and more, is now its own card. Cards can be reordered, resized within their column, or removed from view entirely.

Views at the user, team, or account level

You're not locked into one layout account-wide anymore. Three levels of customization exist:

  • Personal views — Any user can build their own layout. Nobody else sees or is affected by it.

  • Team views — A manager can build a layout and assign it to their whole team. Anyone new joining that team gets it automatically.

  • Account/Standard view — The default layout for the account. Only Admins can edit this.

Decide exactly which fields show, and where

Within a view, you control which cards appear, in what order, and in which column. This is what makes the layout actually match your workflow instead of forcing you to scroll past sections you never use.

Example: A recruiter working a high-volume desk moves Job and Pipeline Stage to the top of their personal view. A team lead reviewing across desks moves Activity and Placements to the top instead. Same profile, same candidate, two different starting points.

Highlight cards for pinning your most-checked fields

A new card type lets you pin whichever fields you check most often, whether that's a custom property, compensation expectations, or notice period, so they're visible immediately instead of buried inside a larger card.

One-click resume access from anywhere on the profile

Resumes no longer require opening the Files card to find them. A resume tab is now accessible from anywhere on the profile, so you can pull it up in a click regardless of which cards you've prioritized.

Editing happens inline now

The Edit option is gone from the three-dot menu. Instead, click directly on a field, name, title, company, location, rating, or tags, and it becomes editable right there on the page.

  • Click a field to edit it.

  • Press Enter or click away to save.

  • Press Escape to cancel without saving.

Things to know:

  • Only users with edit permission on candidates can use inline editing. Everyone else sees the field as read-only, with no pencil cursor or editable state shown.

  • If two people edit the same field on the same profile in different sessions at the same time, the most recent save wins. There's no conflict warning, so if you're coordinating edits with a teammate, confirm who's making the change first.

Status always visible

The top of the profile now always shows any active status: Locked, Snoozed, Off-limits, or an AIRA suggestion. If more than one status is active, they collapse into a single banner you can expand for details.

Move between profiles without leaving the page

Previous/next navigation is now persistent at the top of every profile, so you can move through a list of candidates, say, everyone in a pipeline stage, without going back to the list each time.

AIRA suggestions on the status banner are only available on the AIRA plan. If your account isn't on that plan, you won't see this banner, this isn't a bug.

Thing to know:

This navigation is based on the list as it looked when you opened the first profile. If someone else moves a candidate to a different stage while you're mid-review, your next/previous order won't reflect that change until you return to the list and reopen it.

Switching your layout takes a click

You can switch between the old profile and the new one in one click from the profile page, no settings request needed, while your account transitions.
