Locking and unlocking a candidate profile

How locking protects a profile from edits, and who can override it.

Written by Amogh Balikai

Locking a profile prevents most edits from being made to it, which is useful for protecting finalized or sensitive records.

To lock or unlock: use the three-dot menu, or click "Unlock" directly on the Locked status banner if you have edit scope.

Things to know:

  • Non-admins are blocked from editing a locked profile entirely.

  • Admins can still edit a locked profile, locking doesn't restrict admin access.

  • Locking is separate from Off-Limits and Snoozed; a profile can carry multiple statuses at once.

Example: Locking a placed candidate's profile prevents accidental edits to their final compensation or start date after the deal has closed.
