Overview: Time to Scout Report

What the Time to Scout Report measures, who it's for, and where to find it under Reports.

Written by Amogh Balikai

The Time to Scout Report shows you how quickly your team identifies the candidate who ends up getting hired — measured from the day a job opens to the day that candidate is added to it.

This is a sourcing-speed metric, not a hiring-speed metric. It only looks at the gap between a job opening and a recruiter finding and adding the right person — it doesn't measure anything that happens after that candidate is in the pipeline.

For that, see the Time to Hire Report.

Use this report when you want to know:

"How fast are we finding the people we end up hiring?"

It's most useful for agency owners and ops leads benchmarking sourcing speed across recruiters, teams, or job types — especially in exec search and retained work, where speed-to-identify is a competitive differentiator.

What it does not do

It doesn't measure candidates who were sourced but not hired, and it doesn't measure the time after a candidate is added to the job (interview scheduling, offer stages, etc.) — that's covered by Time to Hire and Time to Fill.
